1.  Lunch today will be Bocsoe Pizza, assorted fruits and vegetables, low fat white or chocolate milk.

 

2.  Starting Monday - "Jazz" up your reading with a new book from the bookfair.  Plan to make a wishlist and check out our great authors and titles before school, during activity, and after school.  Parents can come any time during the school day.  We'll have raffles and surprises so plan to come to the bookfair.

 

3.  The 7th grade Volley ball team played host to Eisenhower yesterday afternoon and came away with another shut out 2-0. The bulldogs played the best match of the season improving their record to 6 and 3. Bring on Valley Forge !!!!!

 

4.  Today in 1929,  Black Tuesday hits Wall Street as investors trade 16,410,030 shares on the New York Stock Exchange in a single day. Billions of dollars were lost, wiping out thousands of investors, and stock tickers ran hours behind because the machinery could not handle the tremendous volume of trading. 2.  The 7th grade Volleyball team traveled to Bala yesterday afternoon and came away with another shut out 2-0. The bulldogs overall play was very good with serving being the strongest aspect of their game . Congratulations on another  strong overall  team effort.

 

3.  Congratulations to the 8th grade Volleyball team for defeating Bala Cynwood yesterday. The win required a whole team effort by Madison P, Elsie D, Yuyan P, Cynthia H, Gillian B, Katie M, Cariline L and Kathryn S. Also a stupendous mentorship by coach Frisnia. Great job T/E...

 

4.  8th grade students attending the Wharton Esherick field trip this morning are reminded that you are to be dismissed from class at 8:45. Please bring a pencil, provisions for lunch and a jacket. We will meet in the main lobby and leave by 9:00..Any concerns , please see Mr. Frescoln

 

5.  Yesterday the 7th grade field hockey team played host to Bala Cynwd.  The team played well as a unit and came away with a 0-0 tie.  Charlotte D. had a great save to ensure the tie.  Good luck in your game on Friday and on Super Saturday.

 

6.)  Attention all 8th grade field hockey players:  There will be not 8th grade field hockey practice today.  We have an away game tomorrow and Super Saturday coming up.  Super Victory against Bala Cynwyd.

2.  Do you like to take a stand and argue your point?  Do you enjoy discussions and public speaking?  Learn strategies for presenting your case and vanquishing your opponents.  Students in grades 6-8, please come to an organizational meeting of the Forensics or Public Speaking Club on Tuesday during activity in Room 203.   Members will have the opportunity to represent T/E Middle School in competition at the Chester County Forensics Tournament in February.  Please see Mr. Gately in Room 203 for more details.

 

3.  Attention all Model United Nations Club members - Our next after- school meeting is Tuesday 26 October from 2:40 -3:45 pm. Meet in room 130.

  1. Congratulations to the 7th grade field hockey team for the 2-0 win against Upper Merion on Friday.  Everyone played a great game and worked together well as a team.  Alice R. scored both goals, with Maddie B. and Kelly R. each having an assist.  Way to go, Bulldogs!

2.  The 7th grade Volleyball team hosted the Upper Merion Vikings yesterday afternoon and in the process faced one of the most talented teams in southeastern Pennsylvania. The TE bulldogs played very well, however they were outmatched and were on the receiving end of a 2-0 shut-out.

 

                                     

3.  Today in 1962, In a televised speech of extraordinary gravity, President John F. Kennedy announces that U.S. spy planes have discovered Soviet missile bases in Cuba. These missile sites—under construction but nearing completion—housed medium-range missiles capable of striking a number of major cities in the United States, including Washington, D.C. Kennedy announced that he was ordering a naval "quarantine" of Cuba to prevent Soviet ships from transporting any more offensive weapons to the island.

                                     

4.  Today in 1797, the first parachute jump of note is made by AndrĂ©-Jacques Garnerin from a hydrogen balloon 3,200 feet above Paris.  Leonardo da Vinci conceived the idea of the parachute in his writings, and the Frenchman Louis-Sebastien Lenormand fashioned a kind of parachute out of two umbrellas and jumped from a tree in 1783, but AndrĂ©-Jacques Garnerin was the first to design and test parachutes capable of slowing a man's fall from a high altitude.

  1. The Math League Test will be held today in Large Group Room 12 during eighth period. Participants should report promptly following 7th period.  Please bring a calculator and a pencil.

 

  1. The 7th grade Volleyball squad traveled to East Norriton yesterday afternoon and managed to get back on the winning track with another shut out 2-0. Serving was the key to our success as well as overall team play. Go bulldogs !!!

 

  1. Congratulations to the 7th grade field hockey team for their excellent play against Radnor yesterday.  Their teamwork paid off with a 1-0 win.  Maddie B. scored the lone goal with Kelly B. making the assist.  Everyone played a great game.  Katie L. had an exceptional game on defense.  Congratulations to the whole team – keep up the strong team work!

Announcements for Monday, October 18, 2010

1.  Attention all Math League Participants.  Signups are being taken for the Math League Test to be administered Tuesday, October 19, eighth period.  The test will be held in Large Group Room 12 and will last approximately thirty minutes. All advanced seventh and eighth grade math students are encouraged to participate.  Please sign up with Mrs. Stehouwer.

 

2. The 7th grade Volleyball team played host to Haverford for the first time ever Friday afternoon and ended up on the receiving end of a 2-0 shutout. The Bulldogs played well however Haverford proved to be to much. The team travels to Bala today and are to be dismissed at 2:20. Team please be reminded we depart at 2:30 with or with out you!

 

 

3. Congratulations to the 7th grade field hockey team on their 1-0 win against Welsh Valley on Friday.  Kelly B. scored the lone goal on a perfect cross pass from Alice R.  Everyone played a great game.  Good job, girls!  Good luck in your game today against Radnor.

2.  Today in 1964, African American civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his nonviolent resistance to racial prejudice in America. At 35 years of age, the Georgia-born minister was the youngest person ever to receive the award.

 

3.  The Weight Football Team rushed to its second straight shut out, defeating a talented Welsh Valley squad. Scoring for the Bulldogs were Luke T., Dylan S., Matt A. and Nick S. behind the blocking of Matt P., Kyle P., Mac & Max M., and Q.B. Chris D. The surging defense was led by Nick S., Matt P., Steven D, Jack M., Mike M. and Zack K. Player of the game goes to Dylan S. who scored both offensively and defensively. Congratulations to every player for a total team effort. Come out and cheer the Bulldogs to victory in their next home appearance on Super Saturday.

 

4  The 7th Grade Volleyball team played host to Welsh Valley yesterday afternoon and came away with another shut out 2- 1 . Serving and overall team play were key to another victory, improving their record to 4 and 1.

3.  The 7th grade Volleyball team visited their arch rival Valley Forge this past Friday afternoon. The competition was fierce however the "Bulldogs " came away with a 2-1 victory  to improve to a 3 and 1 record….

 

4.  Congratulations to the 8th grade boys soccer for playing a hard fought game and coming back to tie 1-1 against Valley Forge.  Haaris A. had the game tying goal late in the second half off an amazing corner kick from Dan V.  Ted P., Alex W., Tim H., and Nolan M. also played a great game.  Congratulations.  Good luck against Eisenhower today.

2.      On this day in 1866, the Reno gang carries out the first robbery of a moving train in the U.S., making off with over $10,000 from an Ohio & Mississippi train in Jackson County, Indiana

 

3.      The Weight Football Team chalked up its first win of the season yesterday by defeating a worthy Radnor opponent. The scoring drives were the result of hard running by the backfield with lanes provided by the offensive line. The shut-out is credited to the hard hitting defensive containment. Kudos go out to every player as the victory was a total team effort. Come and cheer the team on to another win in its first home game on Wednesday, October 13.

3. The 8th grade field hockey team beat Eisenhower Wednesday 4-1. Goals were scored by Oliver E., Lane A. and Meredith C. Everyone played well in the first game! Congratulations!
