Announcements for Monday, October 31, 2011 - Day 5

1.      Today’s lunch is Pancakes & Sausage, low fat white or chocolate milk, and assorted fruits and vegetables.

 

2.      Attention orchestra members and all students who wanted to join animae club- but could not because it meets on Wednesday… Animae club is now meeting on Tuesdays AND Wednesdays!! So please join us on either day- or both days- from 2:30-3:30.  No need to sign up- just come!!!  We meet in Ms. Turner's room 153.

 

3.      Winter Sports will be starting...That includes 7/8 Boys Basketball and 7/8 Girls Basketball and 7/8 Wrestling..... Stop by the Main office for your Paperwork.

 

4.      Attention Community Club Members:  5th and 6th graders will have their first meeting on Tuesday, November 1 during period 6.  Please bring your lunch to room 208.  You may buy your lunch during your lunch time and bring it to room 208. 

 

7th and 8th graders will have their first meeting on Thursday, November 3 during period 5.  Please bring your lunch to room 108.  You may buy your lunch during your lunch time and bring it to room 108. 

 

New members are welcomed to join. Join us during our working lunch and pick up your permission slips then

 

5.      Attention all Model United Nations Club members - Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 1st after school at 2:40 - 3:45 pm.  We will begin the research about countries.

 

6.      The Crocheting Coral Reef group will meet each Monday after school from 2:40 - 4 pm in room 203 to create objects from yarn. All are welcome.

 

7.      Students are reminded to bring their “One for Books” donations to the main office. “One for Books” is a wonderful program where all of the money collected goes directly to purchasing more books for children in need in our community and the TE Middle School Library.

 

8.      We are so excited because today is opening day for the Book Fair! Come check out all our fantastic titles. We have the new Rick Riordan "Son of Neptune" and the "Hunger Game" Series. You can also pre-order the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid, too! Come participate in the Alien Booktalk Contest, by writing a book recommendation, you will be eligible for a raffle to win a $25 gift card to iTunes. The drawling is Friday. The Book Fair will be open Mon-Thurs 7:30-3:00 and Friday 7:30-1:00.  Parents are welcome!  Oh and don't forget to bring your One for Books donations, too!  Scholastic will match one book for every $1 that is donated which gets books into the hands of children both in our community and beyond!

 

9.      Attention all 7th and 8th grade field hockey players:  There will be no practice today and practice tomorrow will end at 4:00.  Please see Ms. Crocker if you have any questions.

 

10.  November 11th is Veterans' Day, to honor all those who have served our country in the military. If you have a picture of someone who served in the military, please see Mrs. Cook in room 203 so the photo can be included in a Veterans' Day bulletin board.

TEMS Athletics: Thursday, October 27

All games for today are cancelled.  Unlimited football will practice indoors at VFMS.  Volleyball will practice.  Soccer, field hockey, and weight football practices are cancelled.

1.        Today’s lunch is Baked BBQ Boneless Chicken Thighs, low fat white or chocolate milk, and assorted fruits and vegetables.

 

2.        Yesterday the 8th grade field hockey team played a strong game against Stewart.  They came away with a 2-0 win, with Katie D. and Kelly B. scoring.  Good luck tomorrow against Welsh Valley.

1.        Today’s lunch is Meatball Parmesan on a sub roll, low fat white or chocolate milk, and assorted fruits and vegetables.

 

2.        The 7th grade girl’s volleyball team defeated Welsh Valley yesterday in two games.  A great effort was demonstrated by all team members.  Way to go bulldogs!

 

3.        Yesterday, the girls 7th grade field hockey team continued their winning streak beating ET Richardson Middle School with a final score of 2 to 0. Goals were scored by Grace G and Jess H.  Alexa W and Katie D did an amazing job in goal! Outstanding Mid-Field was played by Sophie G, Steph H, and Piper H. Fabulous work ladies! Enjoy your day off today!

3.        Congratulations to the 8th grade field hockey team for a great game against Upper Merion.  The final score was 6-0, with Jamie D. scoring twice and Alice R, Callie M., Celeste L. and Gillian D all scoring one goal piece.  The team played together well as a unit with everyone contributing to the win.  Congratulations again girls and good luck tomorrow against ET Richardson.

2.      The high scorers on the Pennsylvania Math League Contest were Arun B, Jona S and Michael Z.  Congratulations to them and thanks to all who participated.  Good job!

 

3.      The Writing Club will not meet this week. We will continue working on the first edition of the Bulldog Press next week.

 

4.      The 7th grade volleyball team will play away today at Stewart 2:20 early dismissal.

 

5.      Attention all 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls participating in the chorus trip today:  Please report to the Auditorium immediately after 1st period today.

                             

6.      The Weight Football Team defeated hard-hitting Bala Cynwood yesterday 12-0. The grueling ground game for the Bulldogs was hammered out by Henry B., Nick S., Peyton J., and Scott S. The battle in the trenches was led by Nick D., Billy H., Mike M., Hunter F. and   Ethan G.  The Bulldog defense was fired up by Joey R., David P., Matt H., Zack K., Will M., Matt R. The girls soccer game at Radnor/O'Dorisio has been postponed.  They will not practice.  All other games are on.
