2.    Yesterday's question of Geography had 88 responses submitted. 55 of them were correctly listing the 7 continents in alphabetical order and spelled correctly. The winners are Hannah Leon, Homeroom 208 and Kyle Nicholson. They can pick up their prizes today

 

3.    Today's question:  Name all the states and the great lake that borders Pennsylvania. When you know the answers, write them on a small paper with your name and homeroom number and place it in the bag near room 206

 

4.    Attention all Model UN club members:  Today after school is our next meeting till 3:45. Come ready to research our assigned countries

Announcements for Monday, November 29, 2010

1.    8th grade students will have a presentation about CAT-Pickering during 1st period in the auditorium.  8th grade students should report to their 1st period class. 1st period teachers of 8th grade students should escort the students to the auditorium and remain with them for the CAT-Pickering presentation.

 

2.    Any 7th grade boy interested in trying out for basketball needs to attend a meeting during activity today in room 221 with Ms. Wilson.

 

3.    There will be a short meeting for 8th grade boys’ basketball.  The meeting will be in the boys’ lock room during activity today.

 

4.    Attention all 7th and 8th grade boys going out for wrestling.  Practice begins today after school.  Please meet in the wrestling room at 2:40.

 

5.    All winter athletes that need to take an ImPACT test can do so today in the alien lab at 2:40.

Announcements for Tuesday, November 23, 2010

1.    Lunch: Baked Ziti and Sausage, assorted fruits and vegetables and low fat white or chocolate milk.

 

2.    Any 7th grade boy interested in trying out for basketball needs to attend a meeting at activity on Monday November 29th (the Monday after Thanksgiving) in room 221 with Ms. Wilson.

 

3.    Yesterday's Geography question was correctly answered by 14 people. Two prize winners were chosen and may claim their prizes today, for naming 4 of the most populated urban areas in the world: Christina L Homeroom 204 and Eddie R, Homeroom 206.  Today's question is:  Name the highest elevation peak and the lowest elevation point  in North America. If you know the answer today, write it on a small paper with your name and Homeroom number, and place it in the bag near room 206.

 

4.    Any winter athlete that is in need of an ImPACT test, please come to the alien lab after school on Monday. 

 

5.    Attention all 7th and 8th grade students going out for wrestling this season.  Practice begins Monday, November 29.  Please meet in the adaptive gym after school, ready for practice.

 

6.    Two Months into this years’ Song of the Week competition and there are some new faces amongst the leaders.

 

In 5th Grade, Room 113 and Mr. Prothero hold a slim one point advantage over Room 109 and Mr. Mattison.  Trailing by just two points are upstarts Mrs. Rickel and Mrs. Holmes.  Looks like 5th grade is anybody’s to win this year.

 

In 6th Grade, perennial powerhouse Room 205 and Mr. Broadhead have an early 3 point lead over Room 123 and Mr. Krimsky.

 

In 7th Grade, Room and 114 and Ms. Corson hold a two point advantage over Mr. Boukalik and Mr. Marchiando.

 

In 8th Grade, Room 226 and Mr. Ferris lead Mrs. Ferenchick and Room 220 by three points.

 

The overall school leaders, Room 231 and Mr. McCarthy, have shown consistency early on.  Can they continue for the entire year or will they fold like the Mets come the end of the season?  Stay tuned.

 

Remember – every correct Artist you submit is worth 1 point, every correct Title is worth 1 point, and winners of the week are drawn at random from all entries.

Announcements for Monday, November 22, 2010

1.    Lunch: Chicken nuggets and dipping sauce, assorted fruits and vegetables and low fat white or chocolate milk.

 

2.    There will be a meeting for all 6th grade students interested in participating in mathcounts.  Mathcounts is a math competition team that will compete against other schools in the county.  All 6th grade advanced math students should consider joining the team.  The meeting will take place during activity period on Monday, November 22 in room 121.  Please let Mrs. Patek know if you are unable to attend.

 

3.    TEMS will be participating in the Philly Cares 15th annual winter coat drive.  Please bring in your new or “gently used” winter coats to be donated to needy families in the Philadelphia area.  You can drop them off in room 121. We will be collecting items from November 29th to December 23rd.

 

4.    Attention 7th grade volleyball players:   Uniforms are passed due!!!!  Please return them to Mr. Frescoln.

 

5.    The Geography Quiz question last Friday was answered correctly by 43 people. The prize winners are Olivia R, Homeroom 206, and Lars B., Homeroom 210. They can claim their prizes in room 206 today. Today's question: Name 4 of the 10 most populated urban areas in the world. 1.    Attention all 7th & 8th graders participating in a winter sport:  all sports forms are due by November 22nd

4.      Attention all unlimited football players - the team party will be Tuesday after school at Valley Forge.  Please bring $5 to the main office for the cost of the food on Monday.  You will take the shuttle bus to and from VF.

Announcements for Friday, November 12, 2010

1. Lunch: BBQ Buffalo Chicken Pizza, assorted fruits and vegetables and low fat white or chocolate milk.

 

2. The 8th grade boys soccer team rocked the Radnor Raiders 1 to 0.  The team ran with Radnor for the first half but the boys pulled away in the second half.  The deciding moment of the game came off of a great run by Alex W. who passed it to Jack B. who made a great great cross across the goal where Danny Boy headed the ball in for the goal.

 

3. Attention all 7TH & 8TH graders participating in a winter sport:  all sport forms are due by November 22nd

 

4.  On Wednesday afternoon, the Unlimited Football team came away with an impressive 13-10 win over a strong Eisenhower team capping off only their second undefeated season in recent history with a record of 7-0. Eric S., Chris M., Andrew F., Sawyer H., Pat R., and Jack R. lead an aggressive defense that allowed Eisenhower only one score. Khase M. and Tom R. provided solid blocking on the offensive line that allowed for two scoring drives. All players should be commended for demonstrating great leadership and teamwork throughout the season. Congratulations! 

 

5. Anyone interested in trying out for the  8th grade girl’s basketball team will have a meeting during activity  today in the large group room

 

6.  Congratulations to the high scorers on Wednesday’s Pennsylvania Math League Test:  April H, Jona S, Michael Z, Yuge X, Arun B,  Jimmy W.  Good work to all who participated.

Announcements for Thursday, November 11, 2010

 

1. Lunch: Macaroni and cheese, assorted fruits and vegetables and low fat white or chocolate milk.

 

2. On Tuesday, the 7th grade field hockey team hosted Valley Forge.  Everyone fought hard and played a good game but came up a little short, losing 1-2.  Emily H. scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs.  Congratulations on a good season!  Don't forget the end of season party is today right after school in room 221.

 

3. Attention all 7TH & 8TH graders participating in a winter sport:  all sport forms are due by November 22nd

 

 

4.  On Tuesday, the Weight Football team closed out its winning season by defeating Radnor 26 to 8. Jack M. catapulted the Bulldog scoring by returning the opening kick-off for a touchdown, while Luke T., Nick S. and Matt P. continued to add to the scoreboard behind the pounding offensive line of Harrison L., Mack M., Chris B., Max M., and Thomas H. The areal attack was spearheaded by Chris D. and Jack M. into the hands of Jack R., Dylan S. and Ryan D. The raging defense was fired up by Steven D., Nate A., Mike M., Matt A., David A., Bobby B., Zack K. and Matt H. Special teams were under the superb control of Dan C. and David P. Throughout their season the team outscored their opponents 128 to 64.  Congratulation Bulldogs on outstanding football season. The coaches extend their appreciation to all players for a season full of team effort and spirit.

2.  Congratulations to the 7th grade field hockey team on their 3-0 win against Agnes Irwin yesterday.  The goals were scored by Maddie B., Kelly B. and Liz A.  Everyone played well as a team and had a great game.  Good luck in your last game today against Valley Forge.

 

3.  Attention all 7TH & 8TH graders participating in a winter sport:  all sport forms are due by November 22nd

 

4.  The 7th grade Volleyball team traveled to Stewart this past Friday and recorded another shut out 2 - 0. The win was accomplished as usual thanks to a total team effort. Yesterday they traveled to Agnes Irwin Academy and faced some of their toughest competition of the season. Tied at 1-1 T/E relied on each other and closed their season out with a 2-1 victory .. .. Congratulations on a fantastic season... The team is reminded of our party today at 2:45 in room 122. Please eat a light lunch and bring your uniform, knee pads included..

2.      Congratulations to the 7th grade field hockey team on their 2-0 win against Radnor on Friday.  Lila H. and Maddie B. scored the 2 goals.  Everyone played a great game, with a lot of hustle.  Good luck on your game today against Agnes Irwin.

 

3.      All 7th & 8th graders participating in a winter sport.  All sports forms are due by November 22nd.  Sports forms are available in the front office.

 

4.      Attention all Math League Participants.  Signups are being taken for the Math League Test to be administered Wednesday, November 10, eighth period.  The test will be held in Large Group Room 12 and will last approximately thirty minutes. All advanced seventh and eighth grade math students are encouraged to participate.  Please sign up with Mrs. Stehouwer.

1.      Did you Jazz up your reading?  Are you singing our tune?  The bookfair closes today after activity at 1:30.  It's our final day of the daily raffle.  Many thanks to all the students and parents that supported the PTO by purchasing a book from the bookfair. 25% of the bookfair profits go back to improving our school through technology, classroom supplies, and the arts.

 

2.       All 7th & 8th graders participating in a winter sport.  All sports forms are due by November 22nd.  Sports forms are available in the front office.

 

3.      There will be an 8th Grade Boys’ Basketball meeting today during activity in the boys’ locker room.  Please plan to attend.

1.      Say it Ain't so", but today is the last full day of the TEMS bookfair.  "Just Dance" over to bookfair and check out the "Lisztomania" of great titles.  Get your wishlists filled before its too late.  Still time to come enter our daily raffle stop by during activity.  "TikToc"  before its gone.

 

2.      All 7th & 8th graders participating in a winter sport.  All sports form are due by November 22nd    Sports forms are available in the front office

 

3.      Congratulations to the 7th grade girls’ soccer team who defeated Stewart on Monday. Goals were scores by Megan W. and Clare M. Lindsay J. and Anna C. did an awesome job keeping the ball out of the net. Great job team.

 

4.      Field hockey practice is canceled for today.   Tomorrow’s HOME game is against Radnor.  The Spirit Wear is in.  Please see Mrs. Nagle during Activity in Room 110.

 

5.      Yesterday, the Weight Football Team battled to a 20 to 20 tie against a strong Upper Merion Squad. Once again the Bulldog offense was powered by the strong running from Luke T., Dylan S., Jack M. and Matt A, while the lanes were opened by Matt P., Chris B., Max & Mack M., and Harrison L. The areal  attack was led by Chris D and Jack M. hooking up with Luke T., Jack R, Dylan S. and Ryan D. The raging defense was fired up by Nick S., Mike M., Steven D., Nate A., Matt H., and Zack K. All are to be commended for a total team effort.  Come out and cheer the Bulldogs to victory at their last home game on Tuesday against Radnor.

1.      There are still a few opening in the Sewing club.  If you are interested in joining the club this year…please see Mrs. Poulson in Room #3.  Please stop by today during your activity period.  She will be available to answer your questions and give you a permission slip form.

 

2.      Yearbook staff please be reminded of our meeting today during lunch activity. This will be a working lunch. Please be prompt!!!

 

3.      Did you hear the "Rap"?  "HipHop" down to the bookfair and enter to win our daily raffle while you "tune" up your reading with a new book.  Classics, adventure, sports, mystery - the bookfair has it all.  Free popcorn today during activity.  Remember the bookfair is open from 7:15-3:30 each day and you can visit before school, at activity or after school.  Tell your parents to come do their holiday shopping and help our school!

 

4.      The entire T/E Middle School community is encouraged to contribute a photo copy of any military service member they know or have in their family. Bring in your photo copies to the office, where they will be collected and put together in a bulletin board display for Veteran's Day 11 November.

1.      The Weight Football team played to a 20 to 8 loss to Valley Forge on Super Saturday.  The Bulldogs controlled time of possession and ball control throughout the game.  The offense was powered by Chris D., Luke T., Jack M., Dylan S., Harrison L., Jack R., Matt P., Max & Mac M., and Ryan D. The hard hitting defense was led by Steven D., Bobby B, Nick S., Zack K., Nate A., Matt A., and Chris B. The team is commended for a spirited effort. Come out and cheer them on to victory on Wednesday against Upper Merion at home.

 

2.      Congratulations to the 7th grade girls’ soccer team who played an outstanding game on Saturday. The game against Valley Forge ended in a 2-2 tie. Goals were scored by Megan W. and Angela N. Lindsay J. did a spectacular job defending the goal. Everyone played their best game yet! Good luck with your last week ladies.

 

3.      The Forensics or Public Speaking Club will have its first meeting today, immediately after school, in the Large Group Room.  Note that the meeting location has changed to the Large Group Room.  Permission forms are necessary to attend this meeting.  Please see Mr. Gately for more information.

 

4.      The bookfair is here!  "Jazz" up your reading with a new book from the bookfair.  Come check out our selection of best sellers, required reading and just for fun books.  The bookfair is open from 7:15-3:30 each day and you can visit before school, at activity or after school.  Each time you visit the bookfair, enter our raffle to win a gift certificate to the TEMS School Store.  Also, during bookfair week, do your school store shopping at the bookfair.
