Lend a Hand and peer mediators will be selling pretzels and juice boxes for a dollar after school on March 26th to raise money for the victims of the Chile earthquake.  We will sell them in three locations, the front lobby, by the auditorium and the back door.  Please bring a dollar on Friday to buy a pretzel and support a good cause. 

 

2.) The Math League Test will be held today in Large Group Room 12 during first period. Participants should report promptly following homeroom.  Please bring a calculator and a pencil.

 

3.) 7th Grade Knowledge Bowl tryouts will be held Wednesday, March 25, in room 114 during activity period and lunch.

2.) Attention all Math League Participants.  Signups are being taken for the final Math League Test of the school year. It will be administered Tuesday, March 23, first period in Large Group Room 12.  All advanced seventh and eighth grade math students are encouraged to participate.  Please sign up with Mrs. Stehouwer. 

 

3.) The 8th grade boys’ basketball team needs to turn-in their washed uniform as soon as possible to Coach Hardy.

2.) This is a quick reminder from What A Life.  Today is the last day we’ll have parent volunteers at lunch to collect information about what you’re doing outside of school to help others.  We want to share the great things you’re up to, so take a moment to talk with a parent volunteer today.

2.)  What A Life wants to thank everybody who participated in our lunch activity on Friday.  The great things you are doing at school to be Socially Responsible filled the bulletin board and more!

 

Today and tomorrow, parent volunteers will be at lunch collecting information about what you’re doing to help others OUTSIDE of school.  Feel free to bring in materials from home or just take a moment to tell us what you’re up to.  Then, later in the week, keep an eye out for new displays around the cafeteria.

 

Thank you to everyone who has taken a moment to share his or her good work!

 

3.)  The yearbook staff will hold a working lunch meeting in the cafeteria during 7th grade lunch Wednesday, March 17th. Should anyone have any questions please see Mr. Frescoln...

1)      If you would like to be a Conestoga Football or Basketball cheerleader for the 2010-2011 school year, please note the following dates:  Practice Days are Monday, March 15th and Tuesday March 16th from 7:30-8:45.  Try-out days are Monday, March 22nd and Tuesday, March 23rd beginning at 4:30. You MUST attend BOTH practice sessions in order to be eligible to try-out.  Practices will be held in the Valley Forge Middle School cafeteria.  More detailed information will be given at the first practice session.  Hope to see you there!

 

2)      Attention 8th grade students: Any 8th grader who wishes to tryout for the 8th grade Knowledge Bowl team should sign-up on the sign-up sheets outside of Mr. Schweitzer's room 236.  Tryouts will be held on Wednesday, March 17 and Thursday, March 18 in room 236 from 11:20-12:00.  Bring your lunch.

6)      Congratulations to all actors, actresses, and stage crew who performed in the 5/6 grade play this weekend!  The show was a huge success!  We raised $989 to donate to Dragon Fly Forest.  Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication.  

 

7)      On Saturday March 13th, eight sixth grade students from TEMS participated in the Chester County mathcounts competition.  In the team competition, Team A consisting of Evan S., Ju-Young R., Michael Z, and Alex W finished second overall.   Additionally,  Ju-Young R placed ninth in the individual contest.  Congratulations to team B members for an excellent job.  Team B consisted of Lucas Y, Arun B, Sean G and Jona S.  There were sixteen schools from the county and over 100 students who competed.  Congratulations!

 

8)      8th grade girls lacrosse will have practice today in the small gym until 4:15pm

 

9)      7th and 8th grade girls’ softball will hold meetings on Tuesday, March 16th in Room 133 during activity.

Have you done something at school that has helped someone outside of school?  Read for the Read-a-thon? Delivered food for Meals on Wheels? Jumped Rope for the American Heart Association? Brought in a towel for Main Line Animal Rescue? 

 

These all are examples of being Socially Responsible.  What A Life wants to know what you’ve been doing lately at school that’s Socially Responsible.  Starting today at lunch, we want to fill the bulletin boards in the lunch room with great examples of what you all do and can do!  Bring in pictures, flyers, posters, or write something down during lunch.  Come on! 3.      The 5th and 6th grade movie social is now filled.   There are no more seats in the theatre left.  If you signed up by Monday, you are on the list. As of this morning, the office cannot accept any more forms.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

 

4.      For those attending the social, please carpool to the Wayne theatre, as parking is limited.  If you cannot find parking near the theatre, there is a large lot off of N. Wayne Avenue across from Christopher¹s.

 

5.      SPORTS PLAYERS remember to pick up your forms from the Main Office as all forms must be returned by March 8th.

3.      Attention all 5/6 Cast members and stage crew.  There will be a meeting/rehearsal after school today for both casts.  Please bring your costume to this meeting! Stage Crew will be dismissed at 3:10, so please make arrangements to have a ride home at that time.   

Also, Cast 1 will have practice today during 7th and 8th period specials, from 1:00 – 2:15 on the stage.  All Cast 1 members need to attend this rehearsal!

Cast 2 will practice after school tomorrow March 2nd.  

If you have not done so already, please bring in your $12 to Mrs. Bellopede!  

 

4.      Today is the last day to sign up for the 5th and 6th grade movie social! Sign up in the cafeteria during lunch today. It is $12 to see Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. Pizza, popcorn and soda. This Thursday, March 4th from 11:30 am to 2:00pm. Don't miss it!

 

5.      The “What a Life!” Slogan Contest entries are due by the end of the day today.  You can win a $10 iTunes gift card, so don’t forget to submit your slogan.  The Meals on Wheels permission slips are also due by the end of the day.

 

6.      If you have Ms. Martin for 8th grade science and you haven't turned in your Dante's Peak permission form yet, make sure you put your Dante's Peak permission in your class's homework bin THIS MORNING BEFORE 2nd PERIOD if you want to watch the film today.
