Announcements for Tuesday, January 12, 2010

1.    8^th grade girl’s basketball team lost to a tough Valley The Forge team yesterday.  Guards Sonali D., Katie O. and Molly M played extremely well in the first quarter knocking down their open shots and keeping the score close.  Kristen M., Elsie W., Annina  R. and Amy C. played tough on defense against Valley Forge’s forwards.  The team played hard and are looking for a win against E.T. Richardson this Friday. 

 

 

2.    The Writing Club will not meet today. The final touches of the first edition of this year's paper are being completed. The writing club will next meet on Thursday, January 21.

 

 

3.    The Math League Test will be held today in Large Group Room 12 during first period. Participants should report promptly following homeroom.  Please bring a calculator and a pencil.

 

Announcments for Monday January 11, 2010

1. Attention all tech club members: Tech Club will end at 4:00 today.

 

 2.2. On January 11, 1908, U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt declares the massive Grand Canyon in northwestern Arizona a national monument.

 

3. In the first flight of its kind, American aviator Amelia Earhart departs Wheeler Field in Honolulu, Hawaii, on a solo flight to North America. Hawaiian commercial interests offered a $10,000 award to whoever accomplished the flight first. The next day, after traveling 2,400 miles in 18 hours, she safely landed at Oakland Airport in Oakland, California.

 

4.  Reminder to all 5/6 cast and stage crew members.  We will have play practice tomorrow from 2:45 until 4:00 in the auditorium. Please remind your parents that our Parent Meeting begins at 3:30. monument

 

Announcements for Friday, January 8, 2010

1.      The 8th grade girl’s basketball team lost to Radnor on Wednesday 22-9.  The girl’s kept it close during the first and second quarters of the game.  In the second half, Radnor pulled away and we couldn’t come back.  The team will play district rivals Valley Forge on Monday.

 

 

2.      Congratulations to the 8th grade boys’ basketball team as they defeated Valley Forge 47-24.  The entire team played an outstanding game. Way to go Bulldogs!

Announcements for Thursday, January 7, 2010

1.      Attention all Math League Participants.  Signups are being taken for the Math League Test to be administered Tuesday, January 12, first period.  The test will be held in Large Group Room 12 and will last approximately thirty minutes. All advanced seventh and eighth grade math students are encouraged to participate.  Please sign up with Mrs. Stehouwer. 

 

2.      Yearbook staff please be reminded, we must have your photos into Mr. Frescoln ASAP...

 

3.      Attention all Model UN club members.  We will meet this week, on Thursday  7  Jan. to continue research. 

 

4.      Photo Club will have its first meeting of the New Year this afternoon.  Be sure to bring your cameras, flash drives and USB cords

1.      A reminder to all 5/6 cast members – we will have play practice Tuesday and Thursday this week from 2:45-4:00 in the auditorium.  If you are unable to attend practices, please let Mrs. Bellopede or Mrs. Rickel know.

Announcements for Monday, January 4, 2010

1.      There will be no Maintenance Monday Club today.  We will meet next Monday January 11th.

 

2.      Attention 5th & 6th graders:  chorus rehearsals and sectionals resume today.  All boys in 5th & 6th grade chorus - and those who would like to join for the spring concert season - should report to Room 10 during activity today for a sectional.

 

3.      Mathcounts practice for 6th grade for tomorrow morning is canceled.  There will be not be mathcounts practice for 6th grade on Tuesday, January 5th.

 

4.      Attention all Science Olympiad Members.  There will be NO meeting today after school.  We will meet on Wednesday.
