Announcements for Tuesday, September 13, 2011

  1. Today’s lunch is chicken and cheese quesadilla, low fat white or chocolate milk, and assorted fruits and vegetables.

 

  1. Attention all 7th and 8th grade chorus members.  Auditions for chorus and cantabile are today.  Please check the bulletin board outside room 171 for your audition time.  See Mrs Gyza if you have any questions.

 

  1. Attention all students interested in joining TV Studio:  There will be a meeting today in room right after school for any student interested in becoming a new member of TV Studio.  If you are in 5th or 6th grade you will be able to take the shuttle bus home.  Please see Ms. Crocker or Mr. Ferris if you cannot attend the meeting.

 

  1. After School Sports, for all 5th and 6th graders that are interested, will begin on Monday, Sept. 19th.  You do not need to sign up to participate.  If you would like to participate, just show up any day of the week Monday thru Thursday in the large gym.  You can come as often or as little as you want.  After School Sports are held in the large gym and start at the end of the school day.  They are over at 3:12 and you may take the shuttle bus as your transportation home if you like.  Any questions, please see Mrs. Rickel in room 215.  Hope to see you on Monday the 19th!

 

  1. 7th Grade Boy’s Soccer will practice today after school.  The bus will leave promptly at 2:40 form the front of the school.

 

  1. On this day in 1814, Francis Scott Key pens a poem which is later set to music and in 1931 becomes America's national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner." The poem, originally titled "The Defence of Fort McHenry," was written after Key witnessed the Maryland fort being bombarded by the British during the War of 1812.
