Announcements for Monday, March 15, 2010

1)      If you would like to be a Conestoga Football or Basketball cheerleader for the 2010-2011 school year, please note the following dates:  Practice Days are Monday, March 15th and Tuesday March 16th from 7:30-8:45.  Try-out days are Monday, March 22nd and Tuesday, March 23rd beginning at 4:30. You MUST attend BOTH practice sessions in order to be eligible to try-out.  Practices will be held in the Valley Forge Middle School cafeteria.  More detailed information will be given at the first practice session.  Hope to see you there!

 

2)      Attention 8th grade students: Any 8th grader who wishes to tryout for the 8th grade Knowledge Bowl team should sign-up on the sign-up sheets outside of Mr. Schweitzer's room 236.  Tryouts will be held on Wednesday, March 17 and Thursday, March 18 in room 236 from 11:20-12:00.  Bring your lunch.

 

3)      All 8th grade girls’ basketball players need to turn in their clean uniforms tomorrow after school to Mr. Mileto.

 

4)      Attention TV Studio Members:  There will be a brief meeting in room 226 on Thursday, March 18th to have our yearbook photo taken.  If you wish to be in the photo, please be prompt.  We will be finished by 3:00.

 

5)      There will NO 7th grade girl's lacrosse practice on Monday or Tuesday March 15 and 16th.  Practice will begin on Wednesday, March 17th.  Please be ready at 2:40 to board the shuttle bus to Valley Forge. 

 

6)      Congratulations to all actors, actresses, and stage crew who performed in the 5/6 grade play this weekend!  The show was a huge success!  We raised $989 to donate to Dragon Fly Forest.  Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication.  

 

7)      On Saturday March 13th, eight sixth grade students from TEMS participated in the Chester County mathcounts competition.  In the team competition, Team A consisting of Evan S., Ju-Young R., Michael Z, and Alex W finished second overall.   Additionally,  Ju-Young R placed ninth in the individual contest.  Congratulations to team B members for an excellent job.  Team B consisted of Lucas Y, Arun B, Sean G and Jona S.  There were sixteen schools from the county and over 100 students who competed.  Congratulations!

 

8)      8th grade girls lacrosse will have practice today in the small gym until 4:15pm

 

9)      7^th and 8^th grade girls’ softball will hold meetings on Tuesday, March 16^th in Room 133 during activity.
