Announcements for Monday, February 07, 2011

1.     Today’s lunch is pancakes and sausage, low fat white or chocolate milk and assorted fruits and vegetables

 

2.     Congratulations to Cynthia H, April H, Courtney K, and Alex W. who took 1st place in the Math Counts competition over the weekend. 200 students from 26 schools across Chester County were represented. Alex W. also placed 2nd individually in both the written and oral competition. These students will represent Chester County at the Pennsylvania state competition next month. Arun B., Sean G., Mary M., Nakita R., Daniel X., and Michael Z. also participated in the competition. Congratulations!

         

3.     Tech club will end at 3:30 today...

 

4.     On February 7, 1964, Pan Am Yankee Clipper flight 101 from London Heathrow lands at New York's Kennedy Airport--and "Beatlemania" arrives. It was the first visit to the United States by the Beatles, a British rock-and-roll quartet that had just scored its first No. 1 U.S. hit six days before with "I Want to Hold Your Hand." At Kennedy, the "Fab Four"--dressed in mod suits and sporting their trademark pudding bowl haircuts--were greeted by 3,000 screaming fans who caused a near riot when the boys stepped off their plane and onto American soil.
