Announcements for Tuesday, May 29, 2012

1)      Today’s lunch is chicken and cheese quesadilla, assorted fruits and vegetables, low-fat white or chocolate milk.

2)      Attention all 6th and 7th grade students who are interested in playing sports for TE and have never had an impact test - You can sign up for one in the cafeteria during lunch today.  The dates of the test are June 5, 6, or 7 after school in the library and you need to arrange for your own transportation home.  Please see Miss Hickey if you have any questions.

3)      Yearbooks may be purchased every morning this week and next week from 7:15 until 7:45 in the hallway outside of the cafeteria; the price is $29.00, cash or check.  Checks to be made payable to TEMS.

4)      Attention 8th graders…There's only 9 days left to order your copy of the Memories 2012 DVD.  This program will be shown only once at the Recognition Ceremony on June 12th.  The program features footage from all 4 years of your best TE memories.  It is digitally edited, and will certainly be a program you and your family will want to see again and again.  The cost is $10.  Orders can be taken in the main office or in room 212.  Thanks for your support.

5)      Last week What A Life talked about some of the items around the school that are reminders of maintaining a good personal integrity.  Have you found any more?  Try looking in the Music Room Hallway, there are 4 posters: Respect, Problem Solving, Treatment of Others, and Making Good Choices.  And try looking in the Gym Hallway where there are 3 Sportsmanship Awards and in the Bulldogs Sports Case near the Main Lobby where there are Sportsmanship Awards honoring teachers.  Outside room 104, Mrs. Loukissas’s room, is an inspiring quote by Michelangelo:  “The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.”

6)      At 11:30 a.m. on May 29, 1953, Edmund Hillary of New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay, a Sherpa of Nepal, become the first explorers to reach the summit of Mount Everest, which at 29,035 feet above sea level is the highest point on earth.
