Announcements for Tuesday, January 04, 2011

  1. Attention all Model United Nations club members - Our next meeting is today from 2:45 - 3:45.  Be prepared to research your country assignment.

  1. Dance club is postponed until tomorrow, Wednesday, January 5.  Please come if you can make it.

  1. The PTO is organizing a student book swap to be held in the next couple of weeks.  It's a fun way to encourage reading.  Students share their gently used, middle school appropriate books with other students in exchange for new reading material that is free.  There will be collection boxes located around the school entrances and in the school store next week to drop off any middle school appropriate books you would like to trade in.  Then on January 18th, 19th, and 20th students will be able to go to the large group room during activity and pick out new books.  Students will be able to select as many new books as they dropped off the week before.

Happy Swapping!

  1. On this day in 1999, for the first time since Charlemagne's reign in the ninth century, Europe is united with a common currency when the "euro" debuts as a financial unit in corporate and investment markets. Eleven European Union nations, representing some 290 million people, launched the currency in the hopes of increasing European integration and economic growth.
