Announcements for Tuesday, November 2, 2011 - Day 1

1.      Today’s lunch is BBQ Chicken Breast Sandwich on a Kaiser roll, low fat white or chocolate milk, and assorted fruits and vegetables.

2.      Any 6th, 7th, and 8th graders interested in joining this year’s Sewing Club need to sign up on the sheet outside the Family Con room.  The club will meet every Tuesday after school from 2:40 to 4:00 starting this Tuesday November 8th to December 20th.  This is a perfect opportunity to make gifts for family and friends for the holidays, learn something new about sewing, or just perfect your skills.  Space is limited, so sign up today!  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Klotz in Room 3 before school.

3.      November 11th is Veterans' Day, to honor all those who have served our country in the military. If you have a picture of someone who served in the military, please see Mrs. Cook in room 203 so the photo can be included in a Veterans' Day bulletin board.

4.      On this day in 1777, the USS Ranger, with a crew of 140 men under the command of John Paul Jones, leaves Portsmouth, New Hampshire, for the naval port at Brest, France, where it will stop before heading toward the Irish Sea to begin raids on British warships. This was the first mission of its kind during the Revolutionary War.
