Announcements for Thursday, October 13, 2011

  1. Today’s lunch is soft beef taco, low fat white or chocolate milk, and assorted fruits and vegetables.

 

  1. Community Service Club is looking for you to help your community!

 

Our fun activities may include:

A visit to the Timothy School

Community Service Drives, such as coat and towel drives

Trips to senior citizen home facilities

Cooking Martin Luther King, Jr. Casseroles

Helping out around our school and more!

 

The 5th and 6th grade informational meeting will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, October 12th and 13 during your activity periods in room 208.

 

The 7th and 8th informational meeting will be held on Thursday Oct. 13th during your activity period in the LGR 12.

 

If you can not make the meeting, 5th and 6th graders should see Ms. Seymour in room 208 for questions, and 7th and 8th graders should see Mrs. Abell-Galella in her office for questions.

  1. TE Middle School has had a club called Model United Nations Club for the last 5 years . It is a club that lets students study and represent other countries , thinking of the  needs of those countries. The club is open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders and meets after school.   If you would like to apply to be in the club, see Mrs. Cook in room 203, and plan to attend the first meeting after school Tuesday 18 October .
  2. A new group will begin for students who want to create underwater sea creatures from yarn. It is called the Crocheting Coral Reef Project. The group will make objects that look like plants and animals. They will meet in room 203 after school on Mondays. The first meeting is 17 October. See Mrs. Cook with any questions.

 

  1. Congratulations to the 8th grade girls’ soccer team who defeated Eisenhower yesterday with a score of 3-0. Hannah A., Eliza H., and Angela N. each scored a goal. Mary M. and Annie D. both did a great job keeping the ball out of the net. Keep up the good work ladies.

 

  1. Congratulations to the 8th grade field hockey team for their 3-0 win against Eisenhower yesterday.  Liz A., Alice R., and Kelly B. all had one goal apiece.  The whole team worked together well as a unit, which allowed them to dominate the game.  The Bulldogs showed a lot of team spirit and good sportsmanship.  Congratulation again on a great game!

  1. Tomorrow is the last day for collections.  Please support the SPCA drive by bringing in towels, sheets, blankets, pet toys, and newspapers.  See the flyers and posters around the school.
